The Herpes Virus may be present without any outward symptoms.
When symptoms do occur, these may appear as small, fluid filled and painful blisters that crust over and flake. The sores may be surrounded by profuse swelling and irritation in the area; drying out and vanishing only to have them return a couple of weeks down the line.
