If you keep your stress levels under control the following will help prevent your minimize outbreaks:

Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps boost your immune system and will help your body fight infections.
We recommend a daily allowance of 4000mg for those who have an infection or a recent infection during the acute episode and reduce to 2000mg thereafter.

Please note that the normal daily allowance of Vitamin C is 60mg. Some people can get some side effects if you take higher than the recommend allowance such as diarrhea.

You should also consider foods/fruits that are rich in vitamin C such as Oranges.

Zinc

Zinc helps your body produce T-Cells (T lymphocyte cells) which form powerful body defences against viral disease.

You should not exceed 10mg a day. Zinc will help fight the viral infection from the inside out.

Good Foods

All these foods contain amino acids that your body needs to prevent the outbreak:

  • Fish
  • Chicken
  • Potatoes
  • Milk

Bad Foods

These foods contain bad amino acids like Argine that promote outbreaks:

  • Peanuts (nuts)
  • Gelatin
