THE STRANGE CASE OF POT

by Michael Schofield

Michael Schofield took his degree in psychology at Cambridge University and has since specialized in social psychology. He has conducted researches for the British Social Biology Council, the Home Office and the University of London, and was the Research Director of the Central Council for Health Education. He has published many research reports on social problems and is the author of The Sexual Behaviour of Young People (also published in Pelicans) and Sociological Aspects of Homosexuality. Recently he has published a textbook on Social Research. He also carried out an educational study for the Nuffield Foundation, which resulted in a Schools Council Working Paper entitled Society and the Young School Leaver. He is a member of the Government Advisory Committee on Drug Dependence, and was on the committees which prepared the controversial report on cannabis (the Wootton report) and the important report on Police Powers of Search and Arrest.
