This organization was founded in 1981 by Robert Randall. The Alliance for Cannabis Therapeutics is a nonprofit organization seeking to end the federal prohibition of cannabis (marijuana) in medicine. ACT works for fundamental reform of current regulations which prohibit the use of cannabis in medicine and inhibit neutral study of the plant's therapeutic properties. ACT concentrates solely on the question of marijuana's medical utility and adopts no policy regarding the nonmedical use of cannabis.

A nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public and healthcare professionals about the therapeutic value of cannabis. It urges professional healthcare organizations to proactively urge the federal government to allow patient access to therapeutic cannabis through a formal and public resolution/position paper and is available for consultation to assist in this endeavor. Patients Out of Time will continue to exist until cannabis becomes legally available to patients in need.
