The Methadone Handbook has been essential reading for people starting methadone treatment since its first publication in 1992.
This third edition is fully updated, larger and contains even more information, including more on the effects of methadone, the advantages of methadone over heroin and the formulations available.
Thanks to Kim Hager and Mary Glover for thier help with this edition and to all my colleagues, friends and clients in the South West, Wessex and elsewhere for their help, support and suggestions for improvements.
