A new web resource on cannabis legalization
Drug Abuse

Colleagues, many of you remember working with Dick Evans, a western MA
land conservation lawyer responsible for keeping much of his local
farm and woodland areas bucolic. He also worked in the formative years
with NORML and was principal drafter of NORML's principles of
responsible cannabis use. I am pleased to report that after recent
years consumed with nonreform ventures, Dick is back to some superb
activism in MA in which I and other MA reformers are happy
beneficiaries and fellow workers. Dick asks me to pass along his
greetings to so many of you who he fondly recalls and hopes to see
again.
Dick feels an important step in reform is the creation of a common
resource for reformers, journalists, legislators and the public to use
in undertaking the serious consideration of marijuana legalization. To
serve this goal, Dick has just created www.cantaxreg.com. A purpose of
this site is to cleanse this term of the fear prohibitionists have
assigned to it, and elevate this word to stand for a better drug
policy involving real drug control and a source of social safety net
revenues at a time of financial crisis.
Dick invites you to visit the site, and welcomes criticism,
corrections, suggestions and links/urls to any useful related material
he has overlooked; please contact him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . To
enhance the impact of the site, Dick also asks that you help him
publicize it by linking to it and spreading the word.
