the offence(s) shown overleaf. You are not obliged to say anything unless you wish to do so, but whatever you say will be taken down in writing and may be given in evidence.

If you wish to have legal aid, but cannot afford a solicitor. you mayapply for free legal aid personally when you appear before the Court or in writing at any time from now. If you apply in writing, your application must be accompanied by a form of statement of means which is obtained from any police station or any magistrate's clerk's office. If you intend . to apply, do so as soon as possible or disposal of your case may be delayed.

Bail

The officer in charge of a police station is authorised to admit to bail any person who has been taken into custody, without a warrant, unless the offence appears to the officer to be of a serious nature.
When a person in custody desires to arrange for bail, he or she should inform the Inspector or Sergeant on duty at the station, who will take immediate steps to comply with - the request as far as it is practicable to do so. If the persons with whom it is desired to communicate are on the public telephone, Police will enquire by that means unless the -; accused has any objection; otherwise the police telephone will be used to cause a local Police Officer to make a personal call upon the friend or person named. If, however, the accused person expresses a desire that communication be made by any other means, such as a messenger or postal telegram or cab, and will pay the expenses, Police will take the necessary steps to give effect to the request, if practicable.

Facilities
A person in custody will be allowed to speak on the ' telephone to his solicitor or to his friends provided that no hindrance is reasonably likely to be caused to the processes of investigation, or the administration of justice by his doing so.
He will be supplied on request with writing materials, and his letters will be sent by post or otherwise with the least possible delay. Additionally telegrams will be sent at once, at his own expense.

Finger Prints
Police are authorised to take the finger prints of prisoners at the police station where charged unless the individual concerned objects. And such objection should be made to the Inspector or Sergeant on duty at the station.
