Raise awareness of Stigma & Discrimination against People who Use Drugs - Complete UNAIDS NGO Delegation Survey - Deadline March 15
I have sent round notification of this survey before but I wanted to send it again to explain and stress it's importance.
The UNAIDS Programme Control Board is the governing body of the United Nations AIDS programme. The Non-Governmental Organisation Delegation sits on this committee representing the interests of civil society.
The NGO Report is a key vehicle for civil society to express its views to UNAIDS, its co-sponsors (the wider UN family), and the member states. The focus of this years reports is stigma and discrimination. The focus of this information is focussed around HIV/AIDS but the criminalisation of people who use drugs is increasingly accepted as a part of this process.
This survey will inform the NGO Report and it is therefore really important that we secure a strong voice for people who use drugs and people who work with people who use drugs in this survey. Questions 12 and 12a particularly give you opportunities to talk about the impact the criminalisation of people who use drugs. So please purservere through the bits that may not seem so immediately relevant as there are questions that allow us to speak to the needs of people who use drugs.
The questionnaire takes 10 to 20 minutes to fill in depending on whether you just check boxes or write additional text. It is simple to complete but has an important role in our advocacy work with UNAIDS.
Please forward this email onto other people and networks. Also please take a small amount of time to complete this survey yourself.
Survey available in 9 languages.
Best wishes
